Especially under overcast conditions, when the light intensity is constantly changing, an extremely fast MPPT controller improvesenergy yield by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and byup to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers.
Load output
You can prevent the battery from being discharged too deeply by connecting all loads to the load output. Theload output disconnects the loads when the battery has been discharged to a predefined voltage level.Alternatively, an algorithm for intelligent battery management can be selected: see Battery Life.The load output is short-circuit proof.Some loads (inverters in particular) are best connected directly to the battery. The inverterremote control is best connected to the load output. A special interface cable may berequired, please refer to the manual.
Battery Life: intelligent battery management
If the solar charge controller is unable to charge the battery to full capacity within a day, thebattery's status will cycle between partially charged and end of discharge. This mode of operation (notregularly charging to full capacity) will damage a lead-acid battery within a few weeks or months.The Battery Life algorithm monitors the battery's state of charge and, if necessary, raises theload disconnect threshold (i.e., disconnects the load earlier) day by day until the energy harvested is sufficient to charge the battery tonear 100%. From this point, the load disconnect threshold is modulated so that near 100% chargingis achieved approximately once a week.
