Especially under overcast conditions, when the light intensity is constantly changing, an extremely fast MPPT controller improves energy yield by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers.

Advanced maximum power point detection in partial shading.

In the case of partial shading, there may be two or more maximum power points (MPP) on the current-voltage curve. Conventional MPPTs tend to lock on to a local MPP, but this may not be the optimal MPP.
The innovative algorithm of the BlueSolar device will always maximize the energy yield by adjusting to the optimal MPP.

Flexible charging algorithms

Fully programmable charging algorithm (see also the software page on our website) plus eight pre-programmed algorithms selectable via a rotary knob (see our manual for more details).

A Smart Battery Sense or a BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor can be used to transmit battery voltage and temperature data to one or more SmartSolar charge controllers.

Recovery function for fully discharged batteries

Will initiate charging even if the battery has been discharged to zero volts.
Reconnects to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery with internal disconnect function.
