Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
Especially under overcast conditions, when the light intensity is constantly changing, an extremely fast MPPT controller improves energy yield by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers.
Advanced maximum power point detection in partial shading.
In case of partial shading, two or more maximum power points (MPP) may exist on the current-voltage curve. Conventional MPPTs tend to lock onto a local MPP, but this may not be the optimal MPP.
The innovative algorithm of the SmartSolar device will always maximize the energy yield by adjusting to the optimal MPP.

Internal temperature sensor
Balances constant and float voltages according to temperature.

Using a Smart Battery Sense, a BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor or a SmartShunt, battery voltage and temperature (and current, in the case of a BMV-712 or a SmartShunt) can be transmitted to one or more SmartSolar charge controllers.
Synchronized parallel charging with Bluetooth
Up to 10 devices can be synchronized via Bluetooth.
Recovery function for fully discharged batteries
Will initiate charging even if the battery has been discharged to zero volts. Reconnects to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery with internal disconnect function.

For a wired data connection to a Color Control GX, other GX products, a PC or other devices.

Programmable relay
Can be programmed (e.g. with a smartphone) to trigger an alarm or other events.
